« on: October 02, 2022, 08:18:48 AM »

I'm in need of a blower for my B&W 2500..I have looked and looked and cannot find one that will fit. I did find one that is almost the right size but the outlet is to big. There is no replacement for it,not made anymore..Any ideas would be helpful! Bob

Generally most blowers are driven by C frame motors.  The housings of the blowers rarely go bad and usually it’s the bearings in the C frame motors that fail or become noisy.  Often times a similar new C frame motor can be retrofitted to the blower housing.  I’ve retrofitted several C frame motors to blower housings.  If all else fails send me the removed blower and I’ll see if I can retrofit a motor to it.

Some time you can take out the blower and take it to a motor repair shop and they will repair it.
The best place to try to fine one would be Granger they have so many blowers it will take some
time to fine one. Or if you have a Grainger close to you you maybe able to take the blower to them
and they maybe able to help you out.

I think I have found a motor replacement, now I just need to find a wheel. The motor that was on it had such a strange shaft that the old wheel will not mount to a 3/16 shaft. There once was a motor rebuilding service here in town but they have long since gone away.
Lou..I did get the QSK board and relay all set up in the old amp and it should work once I get it all put back together..Thanks!

Grainier has an 800 technical assistance number that I always found very useful at work when looking for a hard to find part. They always came through with what I was looking for. Just call their main number and ask for technical parts assistance. I’ll bet they can find your motor.

Good luck and 73. Jim. W5JJG
