QRO 2500X Bandswitch parts source?
« on: October 06, 2022, 08:46:58 AM »

I need a ceramic spacer that goes between wafers and also the plastic washer that goes on the end of it.
Are these Multi-Tech parts? Anyone know the model# the switch is based on?

Tnx!

You might try CTR Engineering, W8JI, Tom.  He helped me with an SB-102 bandswitch wafer and from what I understand he has quite an inventory.  If not the actual part me might have a suggestion.

I believe that Amp used a Multi-Tech Industries Model 86 band switch. They are located in Marlboro NJ.

You can buy every bit and piece individually  for any multi-tech industries band switches.

A photo might help but they are still in business so that’s good.

The ceramic spacer is 1/2" Dia. X 3/4" long with an approximate 1/8" hole for the long screw that holds the wafers together. Also need the plastic or perhaps Teflon washer that goes on the end.

Thanks for the tips gentlemen!

The part was apparently damaged by corona at the wire connection to the rear wafer rotor where it was a very sharp point on the end of the wire and close to this spacer. It didn't go through to the screw but carbon tracked to the ceramic and damaged it further. I cleaned the parts as best I could, removed the sharp point and rotated the spacer parts 180 degrees and it is working fine now but would really like to replace the damaged parts. Might try to get some Teflon tubing in there too to eliminate that from happening again.

Is the amp actually a 2500DX rather than 2500X? If it is, I copied the manual in pdf searchable format. Really comes in handy when searching for components in the schematics. If you want it, I'll email it to your QRZ address, or you can send whatever address you choose to my QRZ email address.

Someone asked about a pic...

It is the DX and that is the switch. I hadn't noticed the typo until you brought it up.
Thanks!
The PDF would be nice
