Apache Labs customer experiences
« on: October 18, 2022, 12:32:42 PM »

I am wondering if other amateur radio operators could you share there are experience with purchasing from Apache labs. I order my Andromeda radio back in may 2022. I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks for delivery by the Apache Labs support team.

Today mark the 5th month help me waiting. I gave a $2002.00 deposit back in may. They have continuously said that they will be delivering it soon. The last account Tony from support said that the Andromeda backlog would start being shipped on October 5th 2022. Nothing has been said about the process by Apache Labs as of today. If I conducted my business this way I would be out of business. What has been your business experience with Apache Labs?

I do know that everyone trying to purchase from Apache has been in limbo...  At least 4 or 5 people on another board have been given the same run around.

It may be true.  It may not.

Let us know when / if you get your radio.  2 grand is a lot to just give someone and them continually play games with it.

I ordered my Andromeda in April of 2021 - about a month before Melbourne went into the worlds hardest Lockdown for Covid.  I finally received the radio last summer - it was something like 13-14 months.  Was it worth the wait - YES! The radio is simply amazing.  I also ordered a HERMES board - still waiting on that - I was notified that it should be shipping - so it is about a 2 week shipping time if the radio's travel time is any metric.

Apache is notorious for their customer relations.  I take part on the Facebook forum - same story there.

When I contacted Abhi directly I got real answers.  That seems to be about the only route.

At a guess - and that is all that is - you likely can expect 3-4 month delays between ordering a MKII or Andromeda and delivery.

I've got a tool for my shop that was ordered in October of 2021. The last update I received was that they were hoping to ship mine in late Feb 23. While it’s from a good, but small company, supplier problems and production reject rates destroyed their projected delivery schedules. At less than 100 units a month going out the door, it’s taking quite a while to catch up on all the order slot reservations.

I placed my order in the 3rd week of Oct 21, and know of guys that were 1st week orders that were just notified of hard shipping dates on theirs.
