When I was a new ham I'd see the OF's at the club meetings with their QCWA hats on and couldn't imagine ever reaching that milestone. Today I'm on the fast track to hitting 2x QCWA and it still seems like there's so much left to do in this hobby.
Being first licensed as a one year novice in 1962, I'm past that milestone with 60 years. Only made a few US contacts then, and we were limited to CW only. Didn't really get active on the air until 1994. Don't believe anyone can accomplish all that's available in ham radio awards, no matter how soon they start, and how long they live. I've seen people on forums who accomplished #1 HR asked, "What are you gonna do now?"
While there's many who have all 340 for DXCC, no one has all 3400 for the Challenge Award. The present top score at ARRL is 3271. 5BWAZ all 200 is not easy, but it's been done, so has all 40 on 6 and 160 meters. For VUCC 6 meters, the present top score is 1700. There's a total of 324,000 4 character maidenhead grids squares on earth, so no one is even close. Awards are also available for 2 meters, and past 200 GHz. Last I checked, IOTA has a total of 1150 islands with 1138 active. Top score is 1132, so that person is close, but no one has them all.
So if anyone somehow manages to work everything that's offered, which I'll say ain't gonna happen, they can always just get on the air and talk to someone. There's those who don't care for the awards and do exactly that. But whatever floats your boat, there's something in ham radio for all of us.
