more than 20 years ago i did all the tests in a year (including the code test for General)... my feeling is that you should just pass the tests, then get on with the hobby - build an antenna - build some kits - learn how to use testing equipment - use safe practices for electric and hf - the real learning begins as you explore different facets of ham radio... obviously knowing band edge limits, good practice, etc. is important - that's the kind of stuff you can get from joining a club, working with other hams, having an elmer, etc.
