Thats about it, messages I've sent never show in the sent box selection.
I know that sent messages work as I have had some replies, also I think
that many don't get the message or fail to notice the notification in the forum search area.

My Messages -> Preferences -> Change Settings -> Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default (make sure this box is checked).

Don't expect a modern experience here on eHam. The ownership has, in my opinion, demonstrated its lack of interest in improving the site. It is better to accept it as it is or to transition to a site that has modern software, such as QRZ, that has an order of magnitude more technical posts and responses.

QRZ also doesn't tolerate trolls such as those prevalent here.

Thanks, I understand, I've often thought that eham users and the site in general is a bit more relaxed that QRZ.

No doubt about that - in a circling the toilet bowl sort of way.

The excitement to anticipate is will they serve the site from the other side of the equator so as to reverse the direction of the spiral?
