Japanese Yen
« on: October 22, 2022, 06:20:28 AM »

Since the Japanese Yen has fallen to a all-time low, will the price of radios like Kenwood, Yaesu and Icom decrease in price?
1 USD = 147.695 JPY
1 JPY = 0.00677069 USD

Jaguars, Bentleys, Astons and Rollers have not dropped in price appreciably due to the pound falling to the lowest in decades........

In the 70's cane sugar went from 15 cents to over 70 cents per pound and Jello skyrocketed.
Jello never came down.

That's the short answer. ;D     Demand sometimes outweighs the exchange rates.

As far as I know there is no gray market for made in Ham Radio products.  Places where Japanese products can be purchased cheaply and resold in the US market for a profit.

Thats a good question, but there must have been times when prices for foreign items trended down.

The 160, 80, and 40M allocations are smaller in Japan.  Also 2 and 440.
