Buzzing zaps (4 each) every two minutes on 80/40M on West coast
« on: November 02, 2022, 12:33:41 PM »

Many hams here on the West Coast  have been hearing a strange pulse every two minutes all day on 80 and 40M.  It is a buzzubg pulse always in a series of four "zaps" about two minutes apart.  It is not frequency specific when it goes off you can hear it everywhere.

Anyone know what this is ?

What FREQ where it's the strongest? Have you tired hearing it that on a SDR online service?

More info wanted.   Are these zaps constant with couple minutes between each,  or is the series of 4 zaps occurring at two minute intervals?
I'm monitoring 80M  3970 and don't hear anything.  Tried 40M and nothing there either

Four zaps a second apart about every two minutes.  not too loud but destinguishable S1-2 in Grants pass.  also heard in Ca from modesto north to redding on 40M, 7165 our hangout.  Not a carrier a zap zap zap zap....
