Regarding the original post here -  frankly,  I don't really see an issue.  Looking into the seller more deeply,  he has a Kenwood TS-890 and TS-2000 for his digital work.  I see no false statements or any flags raised in the original sales pitch.  Buyer certainly has a right to refuse making that purchase if he is cautious,  but I don't see any need to post a negative review of that seller from what I have read . . . .    just saying ....

The only other rig I saw was a 870 he spoke of years ago.  If you found that he has other rigs, I will gladly retract my statement.

However, the QRZ page doesn't jive with the rest.  There is no mention of the ANAN and the only thing digital was the 870, like I said, years ago.

Then the QRZ page is:

"Inside the shack
a) Kenwood TS-870   (unmodified)
b) Kenwood TS-2000 (unmodified)

Digital

Alinco DJ MD-5 - DMR Analog Handy

Microphone
Heil GM 5 (shared among both radios)"

Under digital mode rigs he doesn't list any of them.

BUT, I'd be happy to retract my statement if it isn't true.

Anyway.....  If I'm wrong, I apologize to the NP4 station.

Who really cares what he has. WOW !

I do.  The gentleman is 40 miles from me, give or take driving on his island.  He has a radio I am interested in and it looked like he was BSing in his ad.

Someone pointed out that I might have been wrong in my initial comment, and I apologized if I did get it wrong.

I'm still on the fence as he hasn't had a si gle ssb entry in his log this year and stated he only used it on ssb.....  But I might buy a ticket on the airplane this weekend and go pick it up if it hasn't been abused.

I care about truth in advertising.  Because if someone is willing to BS their way through an ad, what else is wrong with the radio?  Seeing that I'm one of 3 full time hams on my island, buying equipment nearby that I could actually see before I handed over a couple thousand dollars is very enticing.

Not all of us just listen to shortwave.

As far as the tax side if this goes I don't see any way that it won't be more trouble than it's worth.

How do you figure your base, or more how do you prove it to the IRS.

No telling how many chain saws I have sold on eBay that I didn't net a dime on.

So, eBay has become basically for dealers.
