CW 500 HZ FILTER

Since i can't remember when i brought from a guy on eham  of cw filter which installed in my 817nd now i move the filter to  897D which i love it and i move my spark key from 847 to 897D thank goodness for a filter really helps ! i'll leave my cw filter were it at .

Yes, filters are great. But I have never had very many. I have a 400 Hz filter on my SB-101, but I seldom use it any more. The rest of my radios only have the standard SSB filters. It would be nice to have better filters for working CW, but I have learned how to effectively use audio filters. I have an old MFJ-752C, a Autek QF-1A, and some home brew stuff that works pretty good.

I have a Heathkit HR-1680/HX-1681 pair that I built while I lived in Germany (DA2EU). The setup is CW only and only has the standard SSB filter and an audio filter. I worked 100s of QSOs from all over Europe, Asia, Africa, etc.., without any issues, even though the bands were pretty crowded. With only an audio filter, you still get lots of QRM, but you learn to listen through it.

yes still qrm sometimes i have  not heard qrm yet but helps thought when i brought for dirt cheap filter and needed one i had it setup for my 817nd at the time before my recent stroke and blind on right eye cuase don't see too well but HF does not stop me for have fun on  HF mainly cw as i relearn my ft 897D again many thig i forgot about it i find that if turn on if button cut down the noisees  it helps too but back to CW since i had relearn the code due to stroke 2019 and blind on right eye still able to see even very small display if use maglass to see the screen little better for me to see the display !
any i will the 500 filter on my ft 897D for now !
