Arduino starter recommendation
« on: November 28, 2022, 09:05:40 AM »

I would like to hold classes during our radio clubs monthly meetings. Is there a amateur related kit or kits you would recommend for the members to build as a first kit? Each member will have his own kit and as a group we would spend 15-30 minutes building at each meeting. I look at the Arduino web site and get overwhelmed at all the choices!

               Thanks for the input

I purchased my starter kit from All Electronics for $50.00. Had everything you need to start learning. Good step by step instructions. And links to Program files(sketches) to allow you to learn the basic coding.

There's a review of DrDuino's starter kit in December 2020 QST magazine on page 48. It's a kit/board you build then learn how to program Arduino systems. The kit comes with a lot of sensors and peripherals.

I bought one, it's a bit pricey for what ya get hardware wise and their website tries to lock you in to buying from them. However, their tech support is pretty good. There was a mistake on the kit/board which I emailed to tech support, and they thanked me for the heads up. I was able fix their mistake without much ado.

Hope this helps......GL/73
