MISC ? -Where-o-Where ?
« on: November 23, 2022, 12:38:55 PM »

HELP ?  Wrong Place ??

I only usually can do a quick surf here so not normal to have the time to snoop/snoop...

QSL Cards ? Who now sells economy ?  Not a Technician issue but otherwise I still like to collect them. A paper record looks antique years later.

BUT COST ?  100  1000 ?? Nothing fancy..just something to send out...

(excuse my Technician mention. I guess normally most VHF/UHF and up QSL's not of interest. All I know is I started sending them out once for notable VHF/UHF contacts and 100% were ignored by the new crowd.

o-- I showed up as a contest operator not long ago at a CLUB station (not mine) and somebody threw the CW key across the room !!! A JOKE !! (CW=multipliers)  Hey..there is something called courtesy or ? I'd say #1 I was obsolete !!

I haven't bought QSL cards in over a quarter century.  I print them at home on card stock.  Yes, this is a relatively expensive way to do it but for the handful per year I typically send out, it works.  I'm not stuck with the same design for a decade or more, I don't throw any out for an address change and I can make custom cards for any event/occasion.

OK..thanks for 'observation'. I needed something kind of fast so stuck the question out there. (often a mistake of mine)

QSL's. Just my chronic experience to me anyway such bring back memories. I still have QSL's from 1964 !! Not a total loss as some even sell these antiques on Ebay. Maybe just me but I enjoy some record of contacts vs. nothing.

Green Stamps..hmmm  lost touch.. Imagine when in odd parts of the earth and how long does it take to get rich collecting USA $$$ ?  Ah..I 'm not the only one that still enjoys collecting such.  Otherwise save audio recordings ? (I have not kept up to what awards require)

The 12,000 mile QSO on 407 GHZ ? Something on the record or just a tale ?

I recommend Mr QSL, K4JSG, I bought some from him a couple years ago and they are great cards. Jeff is a great guy and really knows how to make good QSL cards at a good price too.  Just google his call for info.
