Need earphone adapter Kenwood TH-F6A
« on: November 25, 2022, 02:19:48 PM »

Hi, Cant seem to find this info. Will a straight 2.5mm to 3.5mm plug adapter be all I need to plug headphones into the Kenwood TH-F6A? Does it have to be mono on the 2.5mm end?

Thanks!

Think I found it (right after posting this!) butb maybe someone can confirm or point me to a good adapter?

Have to select speaker in the menu (menu item 9) and the 2.5 is a stereo jack with the tip and the opposite ring being the speaker (?)

The opposite ring being the speaker (?)

A stereo plug or jack with three connections used for mono output will use the tip connection and ground connection. The ring will not be used for mono audio output.

You can make a very simple adaptor using a 2.5mm plug and a 3.5mm inline (female) jack. Connect two wires from the plug's tip and ground connections. Run the ground connection to the jack's ground and connect the jack's tip wire to both tip and ring connections in the jack. Thus you will feed the mono signal to both sides of your headphones.
