Icom SM30 mic with IC-705?
« on: November 28, 2022, 07:39:16 PM »

Anyone ever attach a Icom SM-30 desk to an Icom IC-705? You have to use an 8 pin to 2.5mm plug adapter which I bought with the mic. I've turned on the +8V setting and toggled some of the other settings but can't key the radio. I do see that when I push the PTT lock the red light in the mic base comes on. Thanks.

:)Any powered condenser mIc. will work with 705.
SM-30 should work fine.

Thanks William. I got this email last night..

"I’ve had great success with the above cable adapter and my SM-30.  I also tried the IC-7300 Hand Mic (HM-219) with not so great results on the 705.  SM-30 and this adapter is the bomb!"
