KENWOOD TM-V7 PROGRAMMING?
« on: November 28, 2022, 07:41:58 PM »

Can the Kenwood TM-V7 be programmed with appropriate software and cable?  I understand the V7A can but not sure about the V7.  Thanks

Since you haven't received any help here with your inquiry, may I suggest you contact Kenwood or RT Systems, Inc.

RT Systems, Inc. sells programming cables/software for many radios.

I use their USB-K4S cable/software for my TM-V7A.  RT Systems are very responsive to inquiries.  Rotsa ruck.

Since I had never heard of a TM-V7, I did some searching.  RT Systems does not have a cable/software for that model.  CHIRP software lists the model so it must be programmable.  As to finding a programming cable?   I found a drawing of a cable that purports to work with the radio

Note that the data in/out of the radio is TTL logic levels and if you are building a cable, you would need a TTL to RS232 converter.
