Will have to stay up late to get him on that Net.

Will be worthwhile catch for me.

Any idea of his QSL route?

Look at a GCmap and see just how few countries are within a 3000km radius from ZL, my nearest other country is abt 3000km away, you guys have all of europe on your doorstep, must be 70 or so entities just across the water.

Just revving you up a bit  ;D

I did hear a few Europeans working him yesterday, but the best signal reports were given by VK/ZL stations. There were also several W6/W7s and even a handful of east coast NA stations working him.

I worked him two days ago on 20m SSB at 1507 UTC and he was still 57 strong at that time. Yesterday, at 1330 UTC he was already 59. Possibly the best time to work him from my area may be between 1330 and 1500 UTC.

He seems to hear well so if you hear him, he will most likely hear you, too.

Problem is Gavin of those 70 only 1 or 2 are rare DX like 3A or HV0A, the ones 3000km from you are stuff I can work once in a lifetime and you can get them on 2m on a good day 😂

But as I say if it was easy where would the fun be,

Hi Marvin,

I'm sure he would be workable from here but the pileup would be intense for a new op, thankfully I have it confirmed 40-15m across the 3 modes from 2015,

And I'm amazed how stations in southern EU have such better prop than we get, I was looking at some videos of Italian stations working T33T on 20m SSB and hearing him S9 up here most are reporting super weak FT8 QSO's at best, a SSB QSO was never going to happen,

Trevor, yes, I know exactly what you mean. Here it is the same when I compare what we up here in Canada hear versus what the guys and girls down in the southern USA hear and work. That's why I sometimes say we here up north need big monobanders at a very good height just to match the performance of low hanging G5RVs down in Florida.

You guys in EU have much better propagation on 6 and 2 than we do here.  Plus you get 4 meters as well!

Somewhat True John, I don't get the easy JA/OC openings that Central EU get on 6m but do get more frequent US and Caribbean openings on 6m, 2m I am 1000km from the action here so unless you have a costal location 2m is very hard work, and while I have done some on 4m I found it to be a bit of a bore, but that was years ago before there was lots of rigs with it built it, so maybe it's time to revisit it,

There is really very little activity from the Pacific islands. 3D2AG Tony is on daily on 6 m and other bands, but apart from him, there is almost no activity now. I was lucky to work FO5QB, VK9WX and KH6Y recently on Six, but that's about it, apart from some nice openings to USA west and south, a few from Central America and large numbers of JA, a few HL and BY.
On 2 m, VKs might be lucky to work ZL, so that's a total of 2 entities on that band.
QSL route for VK9WX is M0OXO.

I was stuck at work this past Friday with a SDRplay RSP1 hooked up to a 10 meter dipole and VK9WX was chatting away with VP6MW on Pitcairn over on 10 meter SSB.

Talk about frustration what with me hearing both sides of the QSO and not having a real radio aside from a crappy QRP mobile rig and a NMO27 1/4 wave larsen useless whip on my SUV and not being able to even break away to give it a try before the band died.
