 Absolutely unbelievable...........

Go to Google and type in Kenwood MC-60S8. You will see several of them. Yes, there really is such thing as a dumb question.

The radios on my desk all have a label by the 8 pin connector, it is printed with MIC, which always has been the abbreviation for microphone.

Mike refers to the name of a person.

And we will probably never hear back from this guy after having so many people talk down to him.

Probably true, however, it’s ridiculous to blame anyone here for responding as we/they did to such a question.

The only reason that I'm here is because I thought he was calling me!

You can call me Mike,
You can call me Michael,
(only girls please) you can call me Mikey but please never call me late for a meal!

This is a good example of Google being your friend, not your ham buddies.

I did a Google serch on MC-60S8 and got 177 hits with three pages of microphone pictures. Took a hole 12 seconds.

This seems to point to a larger problem with the newer ham population wanting to be spoon fed all the time.

If you Google search on Mike you get even more hits, including Mic (Mike)

Reminds me of a limerick in an old QST about someone
who was always overdriving his transmitter and splattering
across the band.

It ended like this:

Quote
...
Our patience expired,
We sneakily wired
Ten mikes across each of Mike's mics.

("mike" being microfarads, of course.  So, before "picofarad"
became a common term, they were known as "mickey-mikes".)
