Gigaparts. Bad experience.
« on: December 06, 2022, 04:27:15 PM »

Bought a $18 antenna mount, that with shipping, came to $27.  The item was bought as new.

When the package arrived, the mount shrink wrap had been cut open at the top, and the mount removed from the package.  Since I didn't buy an open package item, or a returned item, I emailed Gigaparts, and asked to have them issue a pickup slip, and refund the purchase price.

GP responded that the shrink wrap was flimsy, and that normal shipping handling caused the plastic to rip.  They further indicated that nothing was wrong with the item.  If I insisted on sending it back, I'd have to pay return shipping, and a 15% restock fee.  The original shipping would not be refunded either.

It was not worth sending back.

Their return policy is stringent, and they make no exceptions to keep customers happy.

Buyer beware.

So let me get this straight.

The product is working fine and has no damage?

The product was exactly what you ordered?

It was shipped in a timely fashion?

Their were no unexpected charges?

Because the item wrapper was torn you want to return it?  Is that correct?

The packaging was damaged, but the item was not. I fail to see a problem. I've had nothing but great experiences with Gigaparts, I've found their customer service exemplary.

I am sorry but I can't figure out how GP acted inappropriate. If you truly wanted this item why would you want to return it if the wrapper was torn? Would you not have to tear the wrapper in order to use it? Your argument makes no sense.

All this does is ultimately raise the prices of the things we need by wasting the time of the customer service personnel who already know hams are the cheapest.

If you had a legitimate beef (and I don't think you do), it would be with the shipping company, not GP.

Keep the product and enjoy using it.

Some people just like to to have something to bitch about.
If that's the worst thing to happen, you are very fortunate indeed! Be grateful.
