Where'd the images go?
« on: December 07, 2022, 05:35:01 AM »

I've noticed in the last few days that inline images folks have linked have vanished.  No broken link icon, just gone altogether.  Thinking if it was a server space issue there'd be at least broken link or image not available but with eHam images are linked to outside storage, so storage wouldn't matter.  Is it a bug or are images stripped now?

Can you cite a couple of examples, Mark?

It appears that images hosted at PostImage are still working. Perhaps it is a particular hosting site that is having problems.

There was one I posted the other day and I figured it was maybe considered a copyright violation but since it's linked and not copied, I'm not sure that'd be right either. (there used to be an image here)

RFRY often posts antenna plots, and they're missing:

Here's one that you posted a while back.  I distinctly recall there was a coverage map image and now it's gone.

I see pictures on all of those links so I suspect it is a browser, anti-virus or ISP issue on your end.

It is the computer I was using, my linux laptop here at home works OK.  I have no idea what would cause images on just this site to not come through - if it's a "security setting" or some kind of "filtering" by the corporate ISP/firewall.  It's the first/only site I've noticed this, everything else I do online seems to be OK.  So in the words of Emily Litella - "Never mind", sorry to sound the alarm.

OK Mark, I had to look up the "Emily Litella - "Never mind"" comment - It's been many years since I watched Sat Nite Live, back in the "ConeHead" days.

On a related note.
I gave an email address to Postimage.
Big mistake.
Hundreds of spam emails in the last two days....
