Question For Yaesu FT-70dr C4FM operators
« on: December 08, 2022, 07:06:20 PM »

I have a flashing number 1 underneath the LOW-MID-HIGH power icon on my FT-70dr screen.
It is where the horizontal bar would begin for the S meter and Power Meter.
It's only there when in Digital Mode and flashes when the radio is idle (not receiving a signal nor transmitting)

I have searched the manual and on line and can't seem to find an answer as to what it signifies.

Anyone know what this is?

I think it's the squelch setting level. Check-out this video then see if changing the setting to maybe setting two fixes it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9fzsNnAaNo

I watched that you tube yesterday.

Unfortunately the squelch level is not it. Anyway it would not go away when in FM if it was squelch.

It's only there in C4FM

That's interesting because I'm able to duplicate your issue if I turn my squelch setting to zero. I apologize for this dumb question but is the volume down or muted to the point that you simply don't hear any hiss/background noise but you're seeing an S-meter reading?

It's in C4FM only.

Doesn't matter what the squelch is set at.
