Spoke too soon. Must be something loose inside. Time to pull it out of the case.

;)Could be something loose , but as a precaution check your patch cable from rig to power meter, if rig draws anode and grid current the power is not getting to the intended point.
After that, could be all of the mentioned above.
Rotate the band switch a couple of times, then on the band in use , on rx move it slighly either one way ot other way. TX and see if it clears.
Could be the coupler to finals if it does.

Nothing obvious on the bottom side. Every time I retune I get a different result. Have checked the coax cables and swapped meters. There are a mass of switch contacts in this. The tuning seems rather touchy also.

Mike, could it be the cable from the PS to your 32S3?  Something may not be making good contact.  You mentioned that it was hard to mate to the transmitter.

Possible but trying to nail it down. In a perfect world I would replace both connectors but that is a bear of a job. What's scary is it looks like someone was soldering the connector on the radio for some reason I don't know. I thought I had a loose connection on the screen wire. The OA2 was not glowing but it only sees power in transmit and that is good.

I was able to apply a small amount of pressure to the transfer relay and noticed no difference in the output power.
