« on: December 17, 2022, 12:10:18 PM »

Hello, DANIEL
I do not register received envelopes
I know that there is no mail exchange between Russia and the USA
It was closed by your president
you should have gotten your envelope back
to get a QSL from me use your known friends in Europe Italy or Germany

73! Vasiliy

Above is what RW6HS sent me via email, he is the qsl manager for EP2MRK,
I worked him for ATNO in November, anyone here have any ideas on how to get my qsl confirmed, Tnx Dan WG5G

Easiest way is to use a friend in Spain, Germany, etc… to act as intermediary if you know someone

You could see if you could send a QSL to him by the bureau.  Not the most ideal, but it might work that way.  Too bad RW6HS doesn't accept paypal for postage payments.

I can't believe we shut down postal service to Russia.

Actually, I asked the USPS clerk about mail to Russia, she told me that there were no restrictions other than you couldn't send via registered mail & this is what her computer was telling her, I mailed it Nov. 23rd so maybe mail was delayed but may still go thru, I just don't know. Dan WG5G

Tnx for all the response's, Trevor, I may contact you in the new year, there's always a chance that my original qsl will make it thru + things may settle down in the near future, 73 Dan WG5G

I knew the use of that pronoun would trigger someone. As though there are lots of women in ham radio…

Forget triggering.  A response like yours is exactly why we don't have more women in hamming.

Congratulations, you just made it clear (and believe me, women catch on to this) that as far as you are concerned, they aren't wanted.

That's not "liberalism" or "wokeness" or "politically correct" talk.  That's ordinary human relationships.

grow up! That you imply it’s my fault there are few women here is ludicrous but guess it gives you another frivolous reason to attack me.
What I wrote was both statistically and factually precise, neither of which seems to stop you from making petulant comments. That behavior might be a legitimate reason many people avoid groups like ours.

You get to bear part of the blame, my friend.

You run around dismissing them here and probably elsewhere and then you pretend your attitude doesn't turn them off.

Well, maybe none of them ever see you or see you talking like this.

But if they do, congratulations for making them unwelcome.  People, on the whole, do not adopt hobbies where blowhards like you make them feel unwelcome.

That's just the way the world works.

If you feel attacked for someone pointing out when you are behaving badly, that's not my problem.  On the other hand, if you don't want women to become hams, keep it up.  Eventually, your behavior will have that effect.
