I just purchased a TR7 and would like some feedback on a desk microphone for it.
The Drake 7077 microphone was made by Astatic Corp and looks like same mic they are still manufacturing the AST-979DM which is amplified. I see some used Drake mics for sale but are at a premium price, I'm sure there are new alternatives at a better price point.

That was the suggested microphone from the previous owner of the TR7.
I'll look into finding one!

I actually found a used Drake microphone for the TR7 that was mint so purchased that to keep it in the family.

It's a re-badged Astatic 878, for anyone else wanting a decent desk mic for a TR5/TR7. And an 878 usually goes for a lot less that a 7077 (Drake badged) version.
