Hammarlund HQ-110C
« on: December 18, 2022, 05:46:35 AM »

I recently acquired a Hammarlund HQ-110C.  The unit came to me with the plexiglass dial face removed, (mounts to the rear of the cabinet face) and is in front of the two wheel dials.  Has the black scribe line down the center of each window.
It was removed because the window portion turned brown and obscured the two dial wheels.  A replacement face, rubber washers (two sizes), fasteners and the "cal set" control bar and fasteners came in a pouch attached to the unit.  I would like to properly install the dial face and "cal set" control linkage.
I do not see any information in the manual nor on line describing how the dial face and "cal set" control bar are properly installed.  I.E. washer placement, "cal set" arrangement, etc.  Can anyone please direct me to this information or provide any pictures of this installation?  I really appreciate the help, advice and guidance.
Thank you.  Harrison N1FAM

Had one as a novice in the mid 50's.  You should be quite pleased. Do not have it or info but remember the cal set slid the plastic from side to side. kind of a cam action. Quite stable after warm up. Enjoy ;) David

I've had and rebuilt a couple of these and they've been good radios. Right now there's a video on Youtube showing the disassembly of a HQ-170A front panel showing the plexiglass and cam a assembly which should be very similar to the 110A. It's titled: "Hammarlund HQ-170A communications receiver refurbishment of display window".
Hope this helps.

I have 2 of those and they are a lot of fun to use...only work they needed was the replacement of the filter capacitor cans...i used the ones from Hayseed Hamfest.

Here's a link to an image of that receiver from the rear, without the case. If you click on the image and look at it full size, you can see some detail of the dial components. Not ideal like a pic from the other side would be but hopefully helpful.
