"I want a Q on CW too...".  Why?
Because I like to work an entity on all three modes... phone, voice, digital. I try to get each one on separate bands, if possible, to not hog the DX. After the initial three, I don't care if the other bands are SSB, CW or digital.

I am not sure if you are just playing Naive, or are Dumb or just don't want to know what is out there.

None of the above. That software exists and people probably use it, and it's not acceptable under the rules for DXCC, WAS or VUCC if they make their contacts that way. Will they get away with it? Probably... because I have tried to turn in a cheater before and all the hate got thrown at me instead of the cheater, so I quit bothering. It's an honor system. Plus, no one gives a crap about whether or not I have DXCC Challenge, honor roll, VUCC, etc. except me. I know that I came by my award honestly and I value it. (sitting right up there in the closet still in the mailer it came in) If they cheated and that's okay with them... it's not my problem, don't care (anymore). If you don't think FT8 is fair, then don't use it. Complaining is not going to change anything.

What I am rebutting is the idea that any of this is going to change with ARRL/DXCC awards because of a whole bunch of kvetching and wringing hands, whining and complaining. GET... OVER... IT. It's here to stay. So how about we stop all the complaining in the DX forums and save the DX forums for talking about... (wait for it) DX!

Me, Naive? No, you are naive for thinking any of this matters. It's radio, it's a hobby, if you are not having fun with it, you are doing it wrong. If you don't like one thing, try something else. But stop all the whining, PLEASE.

Grateful to get FT8WW on CW a week ago, no digi here, and it's good in Clublog. His sig was very weak when I worked him (had to resend my call because I couldn't be sure if he had it right the first time) and my signal? Probably even worse. Glad he pulled my call out of of the pileup. Good op and good luck for me.

Gonna need some more luck for 3Y0 too!

FT8WW is off the air (at least for now), so this thread has been locked.
