North American QSO Party CW Saturday 1/14
« on: January 09, 2023, 08:22:05 AM »

The January installment of the North American QSO Party CW runs from 1800 UTC Saturday January 14 to 0559 UTC January 15, 2023.

The exchange is Name State (US)/Province (VE)/  Country (other NA) or just name for stations outside of North America. Power limit is 100w or 5W for QRP entries. Full rules here.

There is a tradition of using the name of a recent silent key in the NAQPs, so you may here a lot of "Fred"s in honor of Fred Laun K3ZO.

Propagation was FB for this one and I had a lot of fun running LP for a change. The SSB NAQP is this coming Saturday.

I had fun in an illness-shortened effort, working lots of Freds, Ellens, Rods and Bruces - commemorating recent SKs K3ZO, W1YL, W7OM and AA5B.

I did "NAQP" classic - no spotting assistance. Still had great rates and now that there is an assisted categories, you still get the bump from someone spotting you when you start calling CQ.

Same rules for the SSB NAQP - with the larger bandwidth, need to be a bit more careful of getting too close to the lower band edges on 40 and the upper edges on 20 and 15.
