33 Total Days Spent on eHam
« on: January 10, 2023, 05:03:16 AM »

I made my first eHam review back in November of 2000 but I've been here lurking around here since 1995 or so. Started my first thread late in the game back in 2009. I guess 33 total days spent on eHam over the course of almost 30 years is not too bad.............Being the good employee that I was I NEVER visited eHam or QRZ while on company time.  :)

At some point when the site did an upgrade, my statistics were reset.  I've been on since the mid 90's but it doesn't seem the archived posts go back that far.  That, and the site search has been broken since day one.  Used to be able to do a site search with google but even that now is compromised.  Shame a lot of that history and knowledge is lost to data dump, but I do like the more informal format this forum provides.

The eham site makes magazine subscriptions obsolete. There is plenty of up to date information from people doing stuff, compare that to magazine that has less timely info, or articles that are no interest to you.
I only say that as most of those 33hrs were spent reading and thats not bad.

AND lots of sniping, misinformation and just plain wrong information.  Like ALL 'social media', take it all with a grain (no make that a block) of salt.  ::)

Not impressed.
Kids spend 33 days on their smart phones EVERY WEEK.
Quite a strange post, Sir. Kinda self-serving.. but I'm still trying to figure out how. And why. Oh well... once again you got your callsign up in lights! Right?

A.K.A. Blowzo the Humble Ham on YouTube. No, it's not my channel name. And still- this post is about as self-serving as the original one.

Hey, gripers, whiners & complainers... lighten up! I've known Tom for 20 plus years... back when he was in Minnesota and we ran the bands on CW in just over an hour for my 5BWAS awards... you remember that, Tom?

I get what he was saying... he was taking stock of a landmark... a signpost. Sharing it with his friends. If you don't get it, maybe it wasn't meant for you... How about you just click on and ignore the opportunity to take out your crap on other people. Or is it you just feel obligated to put down what you don't understand... a sure sign of ignorance right there.

Everybody can stand to be a bit nicer to each other these days... the closer you get to meeting your maker, the more you should value it. I, for one, do. So with that I will say... sorry you feel that way.

My profile says I have 20 days and 53 minutes in... don't know if that includes my previous callsign or not but I know I have a review on here from the 90s. (barely: 1999-12-15) Good on ya for being around Tom... you've given out a lot of contacts from more DX locations than I can dream of. These guys probably have no clue about that. Well, I do... and I appreciate it. (Although I do still wish you'd opt in on LotW.)  ;D  OH! You likely haven't seen my current QSL card... I don't post it anywhere online as a type of reward for those that actually enjoy exchanging them. And now that I have moved, the label I place over the old address with the new one goes right along with the theme of the card. If you head somewhere cool I need a band fill for on your upcoming vacation, maybe I'll be sending you one. Can't wait.

73 to all... Kevin N4UFO, ex-AC5DK longstanding eHam-mer... for days & days  ;)
