Solid-state radios have a built-in ALC to control their transmit levels.  Don't connect the ALC from the amp.

The amplifier ALC feedback to the radio was sort of useful with tube transmitters, although a pain to adjust (could change from band to band).

The ALC helps to protect the amplifier. For example, if the impedance of the antenna is suddenly higher, the ALC voltage rises from the PA and regulates the transmit power of the TRX back.

Agree with AE0Q and others ... I was taught the same thing by Radio Dan, a Henry expert I highly recommend (I'm using an old Henry dual 3-500Z amp here).
