Got an Ameritron AL-811 in for repair, first one I EVER worked on that that the transformer or something near it (not located yet) that oscillates at different pitches while loading it up (kinda singing a song!) Very interesting...

Unfortunately those songs quite often end with a real loud snap and a little smoke sometimes.
It should help you find the fault anyway :-D

#1 You can buy a new transformer from Amertron.

#2 You can take the transformer out of the amplifier and submerse it into bucket of clear varnish and let it sit for 24 hours. Cover the bucket. This give the varnish time to fill all the lose spaces. Take out of the varnish and sit it on some plastic wrap for a couple days for the varnish to dry. Wipe away the outside excess.

Make sure any connectors are clear of varnish when you do this. The hardened varnish will bond any loose metals from vibrating.
