Author Topic: Uploading to Log Book of the World. Why are only 6 contacts showing up?  (Read 345 times)

I created a LBOTW account, and uploaded about 200 contacts from HRD to this service.  Only 6 contacts are showing up.

Any idea why?  Do contacts have to be confirmed by the other station before they show up?

Thanks

That's how it works.
You can see your uploads under QSO.
You can see your confirmations under QSL.

Don't expect 100% confirmations.
This shows my records.
You have 42,850 QSO records
   You have 15,683 QSL records

I've been using LoTW almost since its inception as well as eQSL and in IMO (just my opinion) it seems eQSL is more popular than LoTW and I get many more confirmations from eQSL than the ARRL system - agn my experience.

I like and use both LoTW and eQSL...73

I like using LoTW, eQSL, and ClubLog - I load all my contacts into all three.  Since I use N3FJP's Amateur Contact Log as my logging program, it is an easy "one click" to upload to each of these. Well, actually three clicks - one click for each upload.

In my experience, I get more confirmations on LoTW (3,540 QSLs from 5,446 QSOs) than from eQSL (2,022 QSLs from 5,446 QSOs).

Newcomers are likely to have a higher percentage of QSLs than those who started years before LoTW came about. (Assuming they uploaded their full log) I started LoTW when it first became available, uploaded my full log, and had less than 10% QSLs at the time. Some ops we worked back then may be SK, or are paper QSL only. I'm now at 9945 QSOs and 5917 QSLs. (59%)

<edit> Unless it's for something high on my priority list like band countries or IOTAs, I seek out current LoTW users only before I call. (Grids, WPX, etc) But I'll answer those who call me, figure they need my state, county, or whatever.

The 200 uploaded contacts are not showing up in QSL or QSO.  I'm only seeing 5 and 2.

LoTW has a volunteer staffed Help Desk, which I've used over the years. It takes them a while (they're volunteers) but why don't you send them an email with you're question?

I take that to mean out of 200 uploaded, you're seeing 5 in Most Recent QSOs and 2 in Most Recent QSLs? Only 2 out of 200 in QSLs sounds very unlikely. And in QSOs, all of the uploaded should be showing. (100% of them) All I can think of is maybe something is wrong with your log. For example, this is the ADIF file of the last two I sent. Your header may be different since I'm using DX4WIN, and there may be differences in the body. But the file must start with the tag <EOH> and each QSO must end with <EOR>. I suggest looking at your ADIF file and comparing the QSOs that made it with those that didn't. If you're using DX Keeper to upload your log, you could join the DX Lab group. They are very helpful.

There's a LoTW user's group:

https://groups.arrl.org/g/ARRL-LoTW

Join it.

You didn't give much info about the QSOs you're uploading.  Not many 2m FM contacts are going to show up.  You may not see too many from 20m SSB ragchews either.  DXers and contesters use LoTW regularly.  FT8 contacts often show up because it's easy to upload existing files from the WSJT program.

Go to "Your QSOs" and click on "Most recent QSOs."  If you don't see the all contacts you think you uploaded, then you really didn't upload them.  Make sure your logging program formatted them correctly.  If you manually select a log file using T-QSL, the T-QSL program will verify the number of QSOs put in the queue to be uploaded.    Also be aware that after contests or on weekends LoTW often gets backed up, sometimes for hours.  Your files may not be processed and displayed with alacrity.  You can check the queue status at:

arrl.org/logbook-queue-status

Could be the other end of the QSO didn't upload their info or they don't use LoTW.

I'd have WAS if DE and UT would use LoTW/upload their QSOs.

Amateur radio operator in Canada is dead set against using LoTW. Asked why. No reply.

Oh, well...

Oh, well...
Seems like the Japan stations don't use LoTW. I have a bunch of contacts with and not 1 confirmed by a Japan station.

For the most part I like LoTW and use it exclusively now.

I have a couple dozen confirmed LOTW contacts with Japan. Looks like about a 90% confirmation rate with them. Germany, however, is stuck at 0% confirmation rate........for me.

It's interesting.

My DL LoTW statistics:
  • 3053 QSO, regardless of mode, 1602 confirmed;
  • 219 QSO, CW, 124 confirmed;
  • 5 QSO, SSB, 5 confirmed.

Good for you. I guess I just contacted the wrong ones. I have 8 non confirmed Japan on LoTW.
However I have 3 confirmed for Germany.
Go figure....

I checked and my LoTW has 998 confirmed Japan contacts from 1992 thru this year, out of 3500 or so in my log.  So some of them do use it :-)
