Mobile operation with Yaesu FT-891
« on: January 22, 2023, 07:34:34 AM »

For mobile operators using the FT-891 who may have been frustrated by the short duration of the band selection:   A recent firmware update (12/26/22) greatly improves this function.  You can now select the band change with the time being extended; allowing you to make the change without distraction.

Ok, when you say you did not notice the improvement, does that mean the stated improvement did not work for you or does that mean you just never looked for it?  In other words, what does the word "notice" mean in this context?

After the firmware update,  make sure that you do a reset.  Hold the selector button down long enough to hear the relay click.  Make sure that you are not inadvertently bumping the tuning knob while selecting the band.
