Icom AH-710
« on: January 25, 2023, 07:26:05 PM »

Hi there
I have purchased an Icom AH-710 folded dipole and would like to erect in an inverted "V". The installation pdf shows it attached with the matching network tube at the top and the feedpoint down below-tricky as the feedpoint looks more robust and has a hole to put a rope through it. The matching network tube doesn't have an obvious fixing point. I'm wondering if any fellow hams have knowledge of the "correct" way of supporting the antenna?
Thank you.

Electrically it doesn't make any difference.

So do whatever seems most appropriate mechanically.
Do be aware of any drip holes, etc., that need to be
facing downwards.  If the feedpoint is normally what you
would use to hang it when it is horizontal, I don't see
any reason to install it differently as an inverted vee.
