I had to replace this choke because I was drilling the chassis for an additional socket and the drill briefly touched the copper wire of the coil as it pushed through the rear wall and that was that. It looked like a simple winding that I could have rewound but I found a new OEM choke on line instead for a reasonable price.
My original choke showed no signs of overheating.
FYI I replaced the standard 100V cooling fan with a more powerful fan but this required changing the time delay voltage dropping resistor values or the new fan ran too slowly during the cool down phase. I also made this fan, two speed using a dropper resistor and a small toggle switch mounted on the black fan housing at the rear of the amplifier. Note that the slower fan speed is still more powerful than the original fan.
FYI FT8 can cause amps to run too hot if used continuously without cool down breaks.
