Help with programming an Alinco DJ-MD5 for DMR plus
« on: February 01, 2023, 08:09:01 AM »

I am not sure if this forum is the ideal one for this query, but the digital forum was very inactive and I was hoping I would get a response here.
I have an HT Alinco DJ-MD5 model and I would like to get on DMR plus, if that is possible. I am told that there are Pi-Star (hotspot) reflectors and QuadNet Arrays, but I can not figure out a simple way to access them from my HT.
If anyone reading this post has directions for me to follow or a link to simple instructions, it would be very appreciated.
Also if I have the wrong HT for DMR Plus, that would be helpful to know.
Thank you in advance for any and all assistance with this and apologies if it is an inappropriate post or location.

Any DMR radio should work on any of the networks. Your hotspot will determine on which network you connect to, and that is done in the configuration. Also you want your radio to be programmed on the the frequency of your hotspot (again set in the config) and simplex and ALMOST all the hotspots use Time Slot 2. You want your channel progammed with the Frequencies, Colorcode of the hotspot, Time Slot 2 and the Talk group you wish to use.
