FTdx3000d on FT8
« on: February 01, 2023, 07:06:12 PM »

Hi All,  I am currently at our home on St Kitts as V47JA.  I have been using my Yaesu Ftdx3000d with a SmartLink, however the SmartLink died, and I am trying to connect the FTdx300d directly to my laptop. I have watched the videos but am now stumped. On my WSJT-X v2.5.4 screen I am receiving Receiving and Decoding and all looks good. However, when I go to "Settings" then "Radio" and set up per the video I keep getting a "Rig Control Error" .... what am I doing wrong.  Thanks and 73, John V47JA

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the rig control tab still thinks you have the signalink connected and or you don't have the baud rate set to same rate as a the radio.

take a look round 40:56

Sounds like your baud rate is off and you need to be sure you are using the enhanced com port that the radio creates when plugged in to the computer.
Also . . .
Menu 067 . . . Data Mode . . . Others
Menu 037 . . . Cat Select . . . USB
Menu 038 . . . Cat Rate . . . 384bps
Menu 039 Cat TOT . . . 100ms
Menu 040 . . . Cat RTS . . . Disable

These are my FTDX 3000 settings.

Hi guys,
TU, TU, I have watched the video, which was EXCELLENT and check all the Menu locations and all were fine, but I still have the same problem.  I will go through the entire video later today and see if I missed something.
Thanks again and 73,
John
