I recall that HRD disaster. They had a telnet server one could manually log into and check callsigns. I actually tried it even though I didn’t own HRD, it was true, and then I found I was blocked from QRZ. So they were logging IP addresses, and I had to beg QRZ to be reinstated.
So I didn’t use HRD for 6 years, but finally bit the bullet as I liked the HRD Alert feature after seeing a review on YouTube. More info displayed more stably than GridTracker. I can’t recall trying JT Alert.
I had a few online words to that effect with Mike PIE. They seem to have lived up to their promises after the incident. Serious updates are slow - they’ve been promising an Access database update for years “any time now”. So if it works for you try it. Just don’t believe vaporware promises.
