Even the League (W1AW) still sends (and receives) cards. At least as of last month.  Guess they don’t have lots of “framed certificates and plagues”.  8)
My office/shack is far smaller than ARRL-HQ. And they PAY people to sort and send cards, which they only do because other people have paid fees for or sent an SASE for if they worked W1AW, etc. If someone wants to pay me $2 per QSL request I'll send them all the cards they want! But I have zero use for postcards. My house is already too cluttered, and frankly the last thing I need are 300 cards from Japan for the 300 or so JA QSOs I made last year--who knows, it may be more than that.

Night gathers and now my watch begins. It shall not end until I reach Top of the Honor Roll

Great times are at hand, and soon there will be DX for all—although more for some than for others.

Some like qsl cards, some don’t. Some don’t bother considering what anyone else wants.
But why waste of time debating the trivial…

FWIW, it’s hard to display LOTW confirmations on the shack wall.

Yep. That's a good one.

But here's my problem:  I already got enough nice cards to fill more wall space than I could possibly give it.

And that's if I throw out all of my spectacularly beautiful JA cards.  Some of those guys really can take pictures and others are great graphic artists.

I mean, I suppose I could go through my cards and rate them by their beauty and hang just those (nobody would really care about their rareness), but in truth, I am not that geeky that I feel the need to put up cards.

If I did, though, they would be by beauty, not by importance.  And most people would still find Dogs Playing Poker to be of higher artistic merit, alas.

I really only want at least one card per DXCC entity worked. I guess some special event cards are nice to have too. Beyond that I prefer LoTW - especially for awards chasing. I do on occasion enjoy flipping through some of my cards - some are beautifully done.. way way nicer than mine. Thankfully I have VU4 confirmed in both paper and LoTW.

Some of my favorite cards are those with handwritten notes. Among the others are the leaf of a Banyon tree over-printed with the call and qso info from Andaman Island, a card from JY1, embossed card from Turkmenistan, qsl card from Louis Varney (G5RV for those who don’t know), etc…

Sometimes form over substance is preferable.
