Icom 735 display lights
« on: February 17, 2023, 08:29:28 PM »

Hello All -
Does anyone have any suggestions about replacing or enhancing the backlighting in the Icom 735? I have one I recently acquired and it works fine but the illumination is weak. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

:)If The original lamps are those pea sized incandescent lamps, make up 3 or 5mm led superbright diffused lamps (put series resistor to led and shrink sleeve).(3 or 5 depending what size led will fit into recess.)
Observe polarity and install. I recently did IC-765 meter lamp with 5mm super bright, and dulled the lens with a scotch pad.
Looked really spiffy.
