If your an operator and did not get to land and work from Bouvet then are you still considered a part of the team?

A whole bunch of players sat on the bench during the Super Bowl but they were still on the team.

Only one guy drives the car but the crew is still part of the NASCAR team.

Only one surgeon operates but there are a bunch of others on the surgical team.

See the trend?

No not really!
Visalia 2023:  So what was it like to go and operate from Bouvet?
Operator:  Oh well i never went on the island I stayed on the boat!
Visalia:  Send the next Expedition Member please...

I thought we were being serious here.

One thing that is surprising for several of the recent DXpeditions is the number of people on FT8 that can't figure out which sequence to transmit on.  It is the one opposite of the DX station, duh!

One way to get there is to have trouble setting your clock.  Even in this satellite and WWV-laden age, it can happen in a sufficiently remote place.

You can "synch up" and agree that you are within a 15 second window without knowing if you are even or odd as compared to WWV.  So, you can decode just fine but still be in the "alternate" window and so everyone else sees you as odd when you think you are even.

a serious question for ken la7gia if my club made a substantial donation between $500-999 us big for our club of 100 members would the 12 club members who are in the log qualify for early lotw if they paid for their oqrs ?  not all club members are dxers.

How would they know who the club members are?

It's all the folks that don't use the mode at all, or only rarely. They opine, insult, denigrate, and openly deride the mode, and the users of the mode, but at the last minute don't want to be left out of telling their local cohorts, "Yep, I worked them!"

Having no reason to doubt that my local club is representative of other groups, the opposite seems to be true - the consensus is that those who were/are not that used to or infrequent users of FT8 were busy on CW working the expedition, some even suggesting the confusion over the clock timing dissuaded them from entering that FT8 mess. A small group of experienced FT8 types actually admitted they used the “set-and -forget” method to work the expedition

For CW and SSB operation, one potential option against DQRM that occurs on the DX frequency is to simulcast 2-3 transmitters/amplifiers by staggering the DX station's frequencies a few kHz.  Use an RF combiner into one antenna.

Apart from any regulatory issues against simulcasting where the DX station activates it's a tremendous added burden to deploy the extra gear but technically and logistically, it would work.

Looks like they've uploaded to LoTW for all donors. Got two confirmed this morning; 17 FT8 and 30 CW.

Great times are at hand, and soon there will be DX for all—although more for some than for others.

From Ken LA7GIA on Facebook:

"Today we have uploaded another 1800 QSOs to LotW for all our sponsors >= $50, this also includes those who donated during OQRS. As stated on the website we do upload based on the donor level, and will continue with the next category which is those below $50 soon.

Please make sure to visit M0OXO website if you want a QSL card. Upfront donors will get their QSL card automatically, no need to OQRS.

Please do NOT contact team members about LOG issues, it is ONLY QSL manager M0OXO that has access to the log. Please also do NOT send him emails, but use the busted callsign on his website

There are NO busted callsign check for digital QSOs. NO screenshots will be accepted and NO changes will be made for digital QSOs.

After all OQRS Direct, Direct mailed and OQRS buro have been sent out, we will open up for FREE OQRS buro cards. In addition the complete log will sometime in the future (next year) be uploaded to LoTW."
