OK, just went out an played with my radio. Pressing the monitor button does toggle the display from the channel name to the frequency. But - it shows the uplink frequency not the downlink frequency for the channel. For example, my home channel is set to my local repeater on Gunstock Mountain (NH). The repeater transmit frequency/downlink is 146.985. The receive/uplink frequency is 146.385. When I press the monitor key it changes from the channel alph name to the frequency but it shows 146.385. If you can remember to add or subtract the 6kHz on UHF then you can figure it out from there. The screen shows whether the repeater offset if + or -, look for the Dup + or Dup -. In my case my home repeater is a Dup -, therefore it subtracts the 6kHz from the repeater downlink and displays that number.
