12 and 10m done, just need 160m now.
Congrats. I got 'em on 12 FT8 but couldn't get through on 10 SSB. I hope I can get that band in the log during the week. I did manage to work them on 15 CW and 17 Phone relatively easily, however. I find it surprising how wild the pileups are after another big operation only five years ago!

I'm curious why St. Brandon is so rare. Are there strict entry restrictions or is it just the cost of transportation/accommodation? It took six years to work the first one after I got on, but in 2007 there were actually two DXpeditions to St. Brandon. Then nothing until 2018, and now this one.

I heard the lady OP on 10M SSB, and she was excellent, really holding the line on QRM. That is a good sign and hope the other OPS are also good. I couldn't get through on 10M, though. Got them on 80M FT8 tonight rather easily. An anomily for me. LOL

Holy crap! Hell froze over! I got him on like my 3rd try on 80M FT8. My weak station is usually one of those that got to get them late in the DXpedition, when the piles die down. It's not supposed to be this way! LOL

Congrats on the nice QSO! I would be able to hear them fairly well on 80m if there was not some sort of continuous wideband QRM on their frequency. Perhaps radar? I am not entirely sure, but I am only getting intermittent decodes because of it, unfortunately. It seems to be making it completely impossible for EU to work them on 80m FT8.

They were very good here on 80. Worked without too much difficulty on FT8 about an hour after my sunset. So far I got them all three modes and 7 bands on Sunday. CW op is great, too; fast, accurate, and LOUD! You can't ask for better than that.

I really only need 20 & up. Well, 160 would be nice too but... anyways... picked off 12m & 17m today. Gotta get 20, 15 and 10 then I'm more or less done with 3B7. Didn't get to put a whole bunch of time into it today, had other projects going on around the house.

If conditions are bad over the pole, it makes sense for us with easier paths to make a lot of Qs now, rather than waiting until later.
Hopefully conditions will be 20 dB later on for the West Coast guys.
With FT8 I could just decode JAs that would be pounding in on 10M if the conditions were better.

I can already tell this am that 12/10 isn't open at my QTH like it has been the past week or two. Looking at my WSPR spots, prop on 40 was not very good overnight either. Still plenty of time though.

The K-index is up to 7... looking at spotter networks, etc., hardly anyone in the US is hearing them. Guess we'll have to wait on the atmospheric conditions to calm down.

That said, I got two contacts confirmed in Clublog... still need 10, 15, 17, 80 and 160m. I don't know if it matters to anyone here but I saw in their news blog that will not be operating 6m or 60m. Seems like they were off to a great start, too bad the conditions went south. Maybe they will work down the EU pileup and things will be easier for other parts of the world when conditions get better. (Assuming they do!)  :-\

Nice catch Vinnie. I was able to work them at 0135z and, with 100 watts and a wire, stations in the Indian Ocean are not easy for me on 80. Looking at the space weather prediction center’s enthusiast dashboard a geomagnetic storm was just getting started. It seems to me that at times the very early part of a geomagnetic storm can enhance propagation on the low bands. What are everyone else’s thoughts?

They had a surprisingly good signal on 40m CW last evening around 0100Z here in AZ. S9 + a little on peaks. VOACAP predicted only a 40% chance of an opening for a Super Station. 0% chance for a basic station. QRN from the line of thunderstorms in N. TX and W. KS was horrible. Sounded like August. Took me about 30 minutes to work them. Antenna here is a ground mounted vertical with 64 one-third wave radials.

Their antennas are right on the beach so saltwater enhancement can be expected in some directions.

We're definitely paying the price for those condx today. Not a peep from them above 20m here in NJ. EU is getting through, of course, because they always do.

Nothing here either. Well, if anything.. EU can thin out the pileups a bit.
