Thanks for the info Ted, looks like an affordable kit, and I won't get over the top about people copying the radio and selling it. Thats just so wrong in so many ways, But that aside I will vote with my dollars to buy the original design. I am going to read up first to see if its right for me.

If you check out the ucx groups.io forum, you will see that Manuel, DL2MAN was heavily involved with developing the hardware of the homebrew uSDX, to the extent that he created his "Sandwich" 3-board stacked model. Another hardware uSDX model is the one that Barb, WB2CBA focused on, plus some nice accessories. You should read the Wiki for the ucx group.

The uSDX clones being sold on line from the Far East are the black boxes with with a front panel with an LCD screen, and typically labeled "uSDX+ HF Transceiver" and "All Mode 8 Band SDR". Those are sold with no support, often built with sketchy part substitutions and no attribution. Check the eHam reviews on them:

I'll read up, Anything I can put together would be fun as I have tools and equipment. I know its phone and cw, I really should
step up and get up to speed with cw. I live on the hillside and I have a hiking mountain to get up, but as you know the idea is
great, but get out there and do it. thanks I'll read the reviews.
