New Caledonia on 6M today
« on: March 08, 2023, 03:12:55 PM »

Finally, someone in NC on 6M besides FK8CP. Well he was on there too, but not wasting any more time with him. FK8HA is not LoTW either, but he has a stateside manager. I'm still copying him.

My computer thanks you. Whole lotta difference in working FK8 on 6M from HI than from GA. Worked the other station in my first message on 6M CW in Feb 2012, after the decline of the 1st peak of Cycle 24.

Why just congratulate the computer? Why not the rest of the station the man built. His rig, his coax, his tower, his antenna, his power supply, or any other station accessory, and did not the man operate the whole thing to make a contact?  You guys act like operating SSB or CW is in some way more difficult. IT IS NOT!  If anything it is easier, far easier than getting a digital station set up and working well. This BS is getting pretty stale.   I am sure you didn't really mean your congratulations to be a diss did you?

Congrats on the great opening!

Didn't copy any of the pacific stuff today, but did work 2 CX stations on 6 for a new 6m country!  Worked an LU also, hope he is in a grid I haven't confirmed yet.

I heard both FK8HA and FK8CP on 6m yesterday a couple of times, each opening lasting about 2-3 minutes. Tried calling them but went unheard.

Also worked a CX for a new one on 6m.

My computer is so overjoyed with congratulations, had to shut it down to keep from crashing. Not the one I'm on now, the one for that lazy text messaging thingy. It did so well yesterday, I'm gonna reward it with an SSD like I put in this one.

Which reminds me of a recent exchange I had from a Facebook posting

Just worked Nepal 9N7AA on 15M for entity #325 on Morse Code!
Was it CW or other? Great and good going!
Yes, it was in the ARRL DX CW contest.

Very nice, congratulations!!

I saw some people calling FK's but didn't hear them here.

Today the Falklands were booming into FN20 on 6. By the time I was able to get on (I was driving at the time), he went QRT after like 3 or 4 calls to him.

Peter W2IRT worked Galapagos the other day on 6. I had too many things going on with work to be able to get on.

Lastly, some JA's were also spotted in NJ as well.. nothing heard on my end.

Interesting start to the season.. hope thats a sign of good things to come!
