3Y0J 15 meter FT8 Missing QSOs
« on: March 10, 2023, 07:51:58 AM »

I worked 3Y0J on Feb. 10th on 15m FT8 F/H. Does anyone know if this was a pirate. I do not show in the log and I have a list of 10 other calls they also worked in the same time period and none of them are confirmed. If a pirate, well that just my loss but they don't seem to be very cooperative in helping with digital QSOs. Basically their policy is "don't bother us". It would be nice if they would at least confirm when they were operating on FT8 and on what band.
I find their policy rather inflexible. This is a once in a lifetime event for some of us so it would be nice to be somewhat friendly about it.

"There are NO busted callsign check for digital QSOs. NO screenshots will be accepted and NO changes will be made for digital QSOs"

ONLY QSL manager M0OXO that has access to the log. Please also do NOT send him emails

I understand the huge number of emails he may get but a little empathy would be appreciated.

With so many pirates and general shenanigan's on DIGI, I get them not wanting the task of sorting through busted qso's, which is a diversion from the times of old...Sometimes it seems the spirit is fading in some aspects.

You mean like this one that took over 2 hours to get and is not in their log either?

Pretty sure pirates made more Q's on this one than the real 3Y0J.   I was not even able to work a pirate.   :-[

Here is the QSL manager's explanation why he is no longer accepting any missing call reports for FT modes in the future: https://www.m0urx.com/ft-modes-not-in-log/

Wow, the ease of the FT mode contacts are not without risk.  Sounds like dupe contacts for insurance are ok then.

I don't accept that is is too much work. The least they could do is confirm if they were working on that band at that time. If not, pirate and my loss. But if they were on that band at that time they should make a real effort to resolve the issue. Particularly since they had problems with the time sync and on some bands were transmitting out of sequence. Part of the problem is the attitude of "too bad, work us again but if you make one QSO stop so someone else can make an all time new one" Not something that is always possible on a location like Bouvet.

Reading Tim's message I guess the real message is dupe, dupe and dupe again until you show up in the online log.

The QSL card originally was simply a "verification of reception".  What they are saying is that they are either unable or unwilling to verify, not that the contact didn't happen.
And the "penny postcard" was the cheapest way to do it at the time.
Now, what it has morphed into is a little sad, but another story!

Hi Marvin,

I thought that Charles M0OXO was the QSL manager.

Was swapping e-mails with Tim early this morning, he never mentioned 3Y0J was his project.

Just tried calling him on the phone, no answer.

Again, sorry everyone. The above link that I posted regarding the QSL manager's policy on not doing corrections of FT8 QSOs was posted by a different QSL manager, NOT by 3Y0J's QSL manager.

Rebels got an email from an Italian IP with a Gmail account that claimed he made more 8,700 Q's pirating 3Y0J.
