In January he said he was preparing for the 6M E skip season, which is during the summer months.
Which may not do you any good if he is busy on 6M and not working HF.
He does a lot of contesting. If there is a big contest he is likely to be in it. I finally got him on 15 CW in the ARRL DX contest.
There is a CQ WPX CW contest at the end of May.
He does check for NA openings, but most of the time the band just isn't open well enough for him to hear above his high noise level.
When I worked him I got him on some sort of skew path with my E/W dipole instead of the expected N/S dipole.
