Boat Anchors - I've found a home
« on: March 30, 2023, 04:27:50 PM »

Howdy! A new member of the eHam.net family.

When I saw "Boat Anchors" I knew I was home.
My Dad - a comm / wire splicer / pole climber in the Air Force back in the 50's - said those exact words when he saw me bringing this stuff home...

My small beginning in amateur radio started with setting up a prc-77 nestled in his cozy AM-1777 in my 1966 M151A1. Since then, I've picked up an M37 (still not sure why) and all the equipment to mount an VRC-12 set up in it.

I'm looking for a tech in southeastern Michigan (Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Saline...) area that has experience with these monsters as I need some repair/testing/tuning wisdom.

Your wisdom and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have a nice day!

Interesting, and welcome to the forum. I just spent some time searching the models you mentioned. DId you get these radios and trucks over the span of many years, or have you been had some  recent inspiration?
