VoCom 2C025-2
« on: July 18, 2003, 03:56:59 PM »

Has anyone got any information on the VoCom 2C025-2? A friend gave one to me. He said it's for 2 meters, and will increase power 10 times (like 5 in, 50 out). Can anyone tell me what the power input/output of this amp is, and how many amps to run? Has anyone had one of these and if so, how well do they work? Thanks for your help. 73, Nathan KCØLCS

The 2C025-2 was actually rated 2W maximum input (drive power), 25W maximum output power and thus has an amplification factor of about 12.5, or 11 dB.

If you hit it with "5W" input, you could damage it.  It will not produce 50W output power regardless of drive power.

When run at maximum rated power (25W output), it draws about 4Adc from a 13Vdc source.

I had a VoCom 2C025-2 years ago, when they were new, and still have a file copy of my test report on it.  I wrote the Product Review for CQ Magazine on this, several years ago.
