Ham Tower Law
« on: January 30, 2001, 02:49:52 PM »

I immediately sent an e-mail to several state senators here in WA, urging their support of this bill.  I live in Clark County, which continues to grow at a rapid rate.  Nearly every new home built in this county is bound by restrictive covenants that prohibit or severly limit the construction of outdoor antennas.

I urge all hams, local or otherwise to write to the WA senators to urge support of this bill.

Here is a goofy one, Ralls County MO, apparently has an ordnance that requires a distance equal to  1 ½ times the height of the tower, or more,  to the property line in every direction! They must think the tower is going to JUMP before it falls!

I think this is a stretch to accomodate a clean break and tumble of an upper section.  Makes a nice way to ban any tower on normal residential lots too.

This is a very nice "safety" reason to limit tower heights since the maximum tower size is limited to 1/3 of the smallest dimension of the lot.
