My work-around for CC&Rs...
« on: March 06, 2001, 01:47:22 PM »

CC&Rs are a fact of life these days and should be viewed as just another challenge for the ham operator as he constructs the best antenna for his situation... Obviously that means no beams, quads or a tower; but more and more that level of hardware is going the way of 2KW power amps. (Not to imply that hi power is as important as a good antenna). But where there is a will, there is a way! Finding a good work-around solution for CC&Rs can be just as satisfying as workig 200+ countries.

I started 12 years ago to install stealthy wires in the backyard and then raise them a little higher in the trees each year. At forty feet, my NB6Zep is clearly visible from the front of the house, but nobody on my block feels the need to complain after all this time. I have posted the info on several of my stealthy outdoor wire antennas at http://www.teleport.com/~nb6z including some pictures.
One good point about living with CC&Rs, the neighborhood is wired with underground TV, phone and power lines. This gives any ham a head-start for constructing a reasonable work-around...
