Has anyone succesfully made a 6 meter transmitter
from a Heathkit DX-60 or similar rig?

I recall articles in the 1960s
about these conversions.  Might check
old issues of CQ, 73 and QST.
You might find a DX 40 conversion
which would work, I recall the two
transmitters are similar.

I haven't seen an article describing this, but it could be done.

However, it would require significant modifications to the driver and PA stages, (tank circuit, VHF suppressor, etc.) along with removal of the low pass filter, which is set to cut off at about 34 mc.

Considering what's involved, it's probably not worth it. It's much easier and more enjoyable to use a transceiver like a Gonset G-50, Lafayette HA-460, etc. or a tranmitter that was meant for 6.

Thanks for the input guys. I think this idea
will go to the back of the line.
